This is a one off test statistical bulletin produced by the Department of Constitutional Affairs on annual activity within the Family Justice System. It reports statistical trends relating to divorce proceedings, domestic violence, ancillary relief, contact, Private and Public Law Children Act, and adoption cases.
The bulletin pools together annual data from a range of sources from across Government, and reports it up to 2002 where available. It was intended to produce further bulletins but these were delayed while the issues with data quality that this bulletin uncovered were addressed. The decision regarding production of future family justice statistical bulletins will be taken once the planned changes to Judicial Statistics have been implemented.
