Coroners are required by law to submit each year to the Secretary of State information regarding deaths, inquires into them and details of inquests which have been held. The information is used to compile the annual statistical bulletin.
The bulletin contains a brief statistical summary of the caseload of
Her Majesty's Coroners in England and Wales during the year 2006,
with tables showing deaths reported, post-mortems, inquests, and verdicts
delivered for individual coroners districts, together with summary and
time-series tables.
