- Office of Public Sector Information
The Controller of HMSO's authority to administer Crown copyright is derived from Royal Letters Patent which are conferred on each succeeding Controller. HMSO's Licensing Division manages and licenses the following on behalf of the Controller: Crown Copyright material; and, Parliamentary Copyright material, with certain exceptions, on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Commons and the Clerk of the Parliaments.

The Parliamentary Counsel are a specialised team of lawyers with their own Office in Whitehall. Their main work is drafting Government Bills for introduction into Parliament and related Parliamentary business.
