The Academy of Experts is the Professional Body for Expert Witnesses both in the United Kingdom and around the world.

Advicenow is a public service produced by Advice Services Alliance, the
coordinating body for independent advice services in the UK. It brings
together legal and rights information from 173 agencies in England and
Wales including independent advice services, government bodies and other
sources of legal information.

The Bar Council is the regulatory and representative body for barristers
in England and Wales. It deals with the qualification and conduct rules
governing barristers and those wishing to become barristers. It deals
with complaints against barristers.

The Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) is the professional and regulatory body for Legal Executives, who are experienced qualified lawyers. ILEX currently has a membership of around 24,000 training and qualified lawyer practitioners. Legal Executives conduct specialist legal work, including advocacy, and are also now eligible for judicial appointments.

The IoP is a membership organisation which represents its members who are paralegals. A paralegal is not a lawyer. Anyone at present can call themselves a paralegal, and although there are no qualifications or experience needed to be a paralegal, most employers recognise that the best paralegals have a mixture of experience gained whilst working and educational attainment. There are no formal qualifications or accreditations that you need to obtain, and most paralegals begin their careers by learning on the job.
