When all the provisions are finalised comprehensive consumer guidance will be published on this website. In the meantime the following sources of information may be helpful -

• The Community Legal Service Direct Information leaflets nos. 12 & 17- No Win, No Fee & Personal Injury
• Claiming Compensation - an easy to understand guide produced by Advicenow
• The Financial Services Authority has published information in respect of seeking compensation in respect of endowment mis-selling
• The Financial Ombudsman Service provides a free service to resolve disputes between consumers and financial services companies.
• The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority pays compensation to people who have been the victim of violent crime.
• The Housing Ombudsman Service deals with complaints about shortcomings in the way homes are managed by social housing and some other landlords (but not local authorities).
• Which? has published advice on making a complaint in respect of endowment mis-selling.
