A new Queen's Counsel (QC) selection panel has been established and it invited applications under the interim scheme for Silk from 19 July 2005.
Applications closed on Wednesday 14 September 2005.
The new process for the award was agreed between the Bar Council and the Law Society and approved by the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs.
A summary of the process and details of the competency framework are available on the QC applications website. They were published in 2004 and welcomed by the then Lord Chief Justice and the Master of the Rolls on behalf of the judiciary.
