Registrar of Criminal Appeals and Courts Martial Appeals and Master of the Crown Office (Administrative Court)
8.1 A competition was held for the appointment of the Registrar of Criminal Appeals and Courts Martials Appeals and Master of the Crown Office (Administrative Court) who was due to retire. Applications were received from three candidates and two candidates were short-listed for interview by a panel which included, for this competition, a judge of the Appeal Court. Roger Andre Venne was appointed to the post.


Deputy Queen's Bench master
8.2 A competition was also held to appoint two deputy Queen's Bench masters. 24 applications were received of whom nine candidates were short-listed for attendance at the assessment centre (see paragraphs 2.13 to 2.22 and paragraph 6.5) and two candidates were approved for appointment. Successful candidates are appointed both as a deputy Queen's Bench master and a deputy district judge (civil). This is a dual appointment and successful candidates will be expected to sit in both jurisdictions for the combined minimum of 15 sittings days in each jurisdiction. Full statistics are given below. A total of seven unsuccessful attendees received telephone feedback and one applicant who was unsuccessful at sift received a face to face interview.
