Code of Practice on Access to Government Information

Prior to the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, requests for information were dealt with under the Code of Practice on Access to Government Information.

Please note: This Code has now been completely superseded by the Freedom of Information Act.

A copy of the Code is available for reference only.

Monitoring Reports

Information Rights Division in the DCA oversaw the operation of the Code, and published annual monitoring reports on it. These can be downloaded in MS Word and PDF formats (to read documents in PDF format.
