Biography

Rod Clark was appointed Director General of Strategy at the Department for Constitutional Affairs on 4 April 2005.

Rod's career in the civil service since 1984 has mainly been within the field of social security. This has included policy, finance, private office posts and front line management of a social security office delivering to customers. He spent two years on secondment in the private sector, to PA consulting where he mainly worked on developing PFI deals.

He was head of strategy, planning and performance directorate at the Department of Work and Pensions 2003-2005 and prior to joining DCA he was selected as a member of the civil service's high potential development scheme.
