Compensation Act 2006: Trade Union code of practice

[CP(L) 22/06A]

Section 6 of the Compensation Act 2006 gives the Secretary of State the power to exempt by order persons or classes of person from the requirement for authorisation. This paper follows on from the consultation on exemptions, and concerns the code of practice for Trade Unions which has now been discussed with the Trade Unions Congress.

This report summarises the responses received. The resulting Code of Practice, while it's terms remain as set by the Secretary of State, is seen to reflect current trade union practises.
