The Legal Services Consultative Panel Advice to the Secretary Of State on

An application by the Bar Council to amend regulation 47 of the consolidated regulations to allow for the authorisation of pupillage training organisations


The legal services consultative panel has considered a reference made by the Secretary of State(referral No 3/2005, September 2005) concerning an application from the General Council of the Bar of England and Wales (the Bar Council). The application sets out a proposal to amend Regulation 47 of the Consolidated Regulations to allow the Bar Council to authorise pupillage training organisations. The advice is published on behalf of the panel by the Department for Constitutional Affairs.

The panel's advice was given in February 2006.
